It’s Christmas Home Tour day! One of my favorite annual days here on KN. And, after going more minimal the past few years, I rebounded this year, in the mood for a little more. I knew since last year I would likely be going in the direction of all traditional colors but didn’t know how I would interpret the red, green, and gold tones until I started working on my tree. I’ve done different takes on plaids and tartan with silver and blue with nutcracker-esque colors, but I’ve never actually decorated in green, gold, and red exclusively. As it took shape, I realized that this year, I was gravitating toward a traditional and classic, but glam look, with more glitz than I’ve done in recent years. As I layered and layered until it “felt” like I wanted, along with warm gold, I added both bright and deep red, and classic and softer greens.

Per usual, there is very little I added to our home this season and I worked to reimagine, repurpose, remix, and restyle what we had in the arsenal. As I always say (but rarely successfully do), I’ll try to keep my chat to a minimum and leave it to the pics today 😉 All available sources can be found below the images. I usually have a more succinct, methodical way of moving through the house, but not today. Today, we’re starting in the main room, with the main Christmas tree.
Living Room
After concepting and playing, here’s where I landed with our living room this year. Like I said — classic with some glitz and glam 😉
I don’t know if my family is just being extra nice to me but they’ve never outwardly appreciated our holiday decor quite as much as they have this year. Maybe it’s the classic Christmas scheme that’s pulling out the sentiments.

I’m still using the same garland base as I do every year, but I did switch up my configuration and for the first time, hung it off-center. Between the bells and tons of layered in berries, I love how it turned out. And, I don’t have a frame TV down here (we’re still using the one we hung 11 years ago when we moved in), but I love finding art on YouTube to display throughout the season. I had so much fun decorating this year — it was the first time in a long time where I played around coming up with ideas, just like when I was young and would try to come up with creative ways to decorate my room. The gallery wall with jingle bells… what a simple thing but I love it. I got them a year or so ago but you can get a big pack of them on Amazon HERE — just hung them with small clear command hooks.

Eliza’s Bedroom
And while I used the main album art colors for my Life of a Showgirl tree in the office, I modeled Eliza’s tree after another song on the album — Opalite 😉 TBH, I was working on the tree when we were brainstorming and so then I decided to go further in that direction. I gave Eliza the choice on either decorating her own tree/decorating together, or surprising her and she opted for the later.

As a side note, I ordered THIS new travel steamer to try after seeing others rave about the style, and I can’t believe how well it works. It works facing down, unlike my other one, and can iron also. I steamed the deep set wrinkles out of my pillow flanges in record time.
