Frame TV Gallery Wall — I’m Head Over Heels for My Office Art Wall!

Moving full steam ahead and being inspired by multiple circumstances, my office “Wall of Happiness” (official name TBD) is complete! And nestled right in the middle of the art gallery wall is a new Frame TV that blends right in. I know “obsessed” tends to be overused and an eyeroll, but I am absolutely fanatical with how it turned out. Today — while my office is 95% of the way there but not quite ready, I’m going to share my Frame TV gallery wall in full detail, along with a few tips on what I’ve found to be the best kinds of Frame TV art.

So, what makes this gallery wall different or special to me? A few things all culminated and by the time I considered varying factors, creating a new gallery was a foregone conclusion. Here’s why I did it and why I’m so excited.

  • I try to secure at least one art print from every place I visit and most were still stashed away since I had no allocated place to hang them. Sad.
  • I have plenty of pieces that are personal or specific to me that wouldn’t really fit anywhere else in the house. Like… my LE Taylor Swift Fearless guitar and my T. Swift prints 😉 I also wanted a place to be able to showcase tokens that bring me joy.
  • The wall my TV was hanging on in my office was underutilized but the TV itself (while fine) was too clunky to incorporate artful moments. I wanted to keep a TV in my office but it didn’t need to be the sole (or even primary) focal point on the large wall.
  • I’ve fully embraced unapologetically showcasing and talking about things I love — no “guilty” pleasure… just loudly loving.

So that TV wall across from my desk? Here’s what it looked like before.

BEFORE

Fine but like I said — underutilized and totally utilitarian. It had so much more potential and the ability to solve a longtime wish — to showcase my trips, experiences, and things I love.

And today — well… here’s what my office wall looks like!

Just like my experiences I wanted to showcase and the finishes in my office, I wanted an eclectic mix of frames and mats. I have sourced as many frames as possible below — most come in several sizes, some in multiple finishes, and some are REAL budget deals! I focused on wood, white, and gold tones.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my Taylor Swift prints that have been spied around my house. I purchased one from a Christmas market in NYC and the other from a UK-based artist I found on social media — Lucy Claire Illustration. Here is the Eras Tour print I have hanging in my gallery…

And this is a print in Eliza’s room I discreetly included in a recent post that I received a lot of inquires about, from the same artist.

When I purchased this guitar in a fever, I was totally caught up in the moment and I know I don’t have the talent to play it and Eliza is too small to learn on this one, but I bought it anyway. Dave tuned it and then I was like “I don’t even know where to put it.” Well, when my idea for my “Wall of Happiness” was born, it was obvious where it belonged. THIS acrylic guitar mount worked perfectly.

I included a lot of art prints from trips and also incorporated photos. There is still room for expansion and I have a few extra frames held back ;).

TIP: In general, small frames that also have the ability to be tabletop frames won’t sit flush with the wall. Remove the brace for best result.

Since I didn’t want the Frame TV to be the main focus on the wall and I wanted it to be just one of many gallery components, I opted for the 32″ TV (with the teak bezel). I also didn’t make the TV the largest piece of art on the wall. It makes it more difficult to even see that the Frame TV is a TV and it’s such a cool effect.

I’m not the first person to create a gallery wall and disguise a Frame TV as art — I actually first saw this from Shelby (Pretty in the Pines on Insta) and loved how she personalized her NYC apartment. But, I’ve never seen one curated in the direction I went.

I used some frames with extra large mats and white space (which worked especially well in the area of the wall where I have a floor lamp so it doesn’t block too much of the art.) It comes in multiple sizes and is such an incredible deal HERE.

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS Studio McGee frame at Target with the large mats.

I made sure my TV was at the appropriate height and used that as my anchor. I built the rest of the wall out from that, trying to keep the spacing between art as consistent as possible. I used my favorite Claw picture hangers for every single piece of art — those that took both single and double hooks. If you haven’t tried them yet, I’ll tell you again — you’re missing out. I hung this entire wall without a hammer or measuring tape.

Speaking of things that bring me joy — I shared a little preview of this corner in THIS office update post but when I upgraded my turntable in the bedroom, I moved the little suitcase record player to my office and I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed listening to vinyl while I work. Such a treat.

And I duplicated this feature in the bedroom (space coming soon) but I used THIS acrylic shelf as a “now playing” spot for the vinyl cover for the vinyl that’s on the turntable. Cute for the aesthetic but functional since there’s no place to set albums in here.

Frame TV Art Tips

My mom bought a Frame TV years ago and I have used hacks to make my TVs similar to Frame TVs in the past (as similar as you can get without having a flush screen and stationery art). Over the years — and with my tons of downloads as soon as I hung my Frame TV in my office — I’ve identified clear tips to make TV art look the absolute best it can.

Frame TV Art

I download all my art from Etsy by searching “Frame TV art” with a specific feels/settings/themes and then browse. A lot of times, once I have luck at a shop, I’ll grab several prints for my library.

Frame TV Art

You may notice that some people have Frame TVs that really look like art, and others have Frame TVs that look basically like a backlit TV. There’s several factors as to why. So my best tips? Here they are.

  1. Start it off right with how you hang it and disguise cables as much as possible. Dave cut into the wall and ran the cable down to the outlet behind the wall. The box is actually on the floor behind the sideboard.
  2. You have the option of different mats on your Frame TV when you select your art. I don’t like them. I think they glow and are an immediate TV identifier.
  3. Speaking of white mats, the color white (and the lighter/brighter colors in general) tend to illuminate more than darker and more moody colors. I typically gravitate toward illustrations that have less white and more color/dark tones to minimize the blue light and glow.
  4. Turn down the brightness on the art all the way and warm up the art color tone.
  5. Choose art with textures. I love art where you can see strokes and art that looks textured. This, coupled with darker tones that give a more matte finish, make the art look more like art.
  6. By nature, the brighter the room/less gloomy the day is, will make your Frame TV look more like art. When your space is dark, the TV casts a brighter hue than the surrounding art and walls.

I have different reasons for selecting all the art I have thus far, but you can scroll along to see some of my faves (and I’ve linked to each of them below the images). If you’re a Swiftie, this one totally reminds me of Evermore 😉

Some key words when you’re searching for art are “vintage” and “moody”.

I love the ability to customize the Frame TV art to the holiday/season, too!

Or, if there’s a trip you’re planning, you can find art of it and you’ll look forward to it each time you see it on your Frame TV.

Do you have a Frame TV and if so, have you/would you incorporate one into a gallery wall? It’s without a doubt my favorite thing in my office and I can’t wait to get the small updates finished to share this little spot that brings me so much joy.

Love the wall, so fun with all your precious memories. The tv looks great, took me awhile to find it and loving that you can change pictures.

Thank you, Wendy, for taking the time to stop by and for your kind note! I love that the tv has become a “piece of art” on my happiness wall. It’s such fun to change out the screen, depending on the season or mood.
