Fourth of July Beach Outfits: Everything I Wore From Day to Night

When I shared periodic snapshots to socials during our Fourth of July beach week, my messages lit up with requests for links. So, I figured it would be easiest and most helpful to recap what I wore here, in one place. This trip, I challenged myself to pack only red, white, and blue pieces, creating an Americana vacay wardrobe that could mix and match from beach days and pool time to casual afternoons and dinner. Having such a specific aesthetic and color combo for the trip made packing surprisingly simple, and I loved how everything coordinated without feeling repetitive. Below is a recap of every outfit I wore, along with the individual pieces and links in case you’re planning a patriotic weekend, a summer beach vacation, or just looking for versatile warm-weather staples.

Sizing: I am 5’3″ and typically wear a small. Unless otherwise noted, I am in my standard size.

I wore the cropped tee I’ve been raving about, along with gauze shorts for the roadtrip, and directly to a casual dinner outside on the water with a walk on the beach after. Both of these are only available in limited sizes now but they’re 60%-75% off. I sized down to an XS in the tee.

I loved being a bucket hat girl on the beach and this one comes in a lighter natural tone, also. My swimsuit was technically burnt orange but I was convinced I passed it off as a rusty red 😉 I have the swimsuit in two colors. PS: The sarong is just over $7 on Amazon!

Eliza’s cover-up is darling and it also comes in black HERE.

Speaking of Eliza and swim, I struck gold last November with little girls J.Crew swimsuits. I stumbled upon the deal of all deals and took a chance on sizing. Thank goodness, I guessed correctly and she’s been wearing their suits all season. This modest two-piece style is available and on sale HERE. She’s ben wearing them exclusively all summer on repeat and the quality is fantastic.

I am all about THIS crochet cover-up and have it in multiple colors. But, I was THRILLED when my mom surprised Eliza with one she found in her size so we could twin!

THIS Amazon swimsuit feels way more expensive than it is and I love how it looks. I’m considering going back for the white or red…

Probably the most requested source link from our trip, this breezy Tuckernuck dress in the chambray is almost sold out (but on MAJOR sale), but it does come in alternative colors HERE. Also, don’t miss THIS woven mini handbag that’s become basically an obsession. It comes in a TON of colors and you can find the woven version HERE and the non-woven version HERE!

I didn’t get a great shot in THIS swimsuit but… I have it in three colors! It’s under $30 and some of the colors are under $20! THIS sarong is also chiffon so it’s breezy and doesn’t trap heat.

The outfit I wore on the evening of the Fourth is yes — basically jeans and a tee, but they aren’t just jeans and a tee. I fell in love with these beachy low rise jeans in store, on a whim, and was shocked by the comfort (they feel like pjs!) and how much I loved the look. I didn’t think I would like low rise, but in these, well, I was wrong. They are lightweight and the rave reviews are totally justified. I need to grab them in another color while they’re on sale…

I didn’t really have any expectations for the striped t-shirt and was thrilled when it came. The longer short sleeves are right up my alley and I love where the t-shirt falls. I wanted something patriotic but I like it enough to go back for another colorway.

I think I’ve already shared the canvas totes my friend Lindsey and I spent an afternoon embellishing (??), but I loved getting to bring it out to the beach on the Fourth. It’s a great bag and a way less expensive version of a boat tote.

Even though I built this beachy arsenal of outfits around red, white, and blue for the Fourth of July, most of the pieces are versatile enough to wear all summer long. They’re easy to mix and match, made getting dressed super simple, and I’ll definitely be reaching for these throughout the remainder of summer. If you have any questions about sizing, fit, or a specific piece, leave a comment or send me a message; I’m always happy to help. Happy summer, friends!
