The best season is upon us and I won’t be convinced otherwise! 😉 We decorate for the holidays early in our house 1. to enjoy the labor and pretties for longer, and 2. so I can share with you all, so if fall incorporations around this time of year didn’t happen, we wouldn’t really have time to pay homage to the best season. For now, I’ve tampered down the bright green stems and florals and have moved onto deeper hues most appropriate for fall temps. And today, I’m sharing my fave fall stems for the season, along with the prettiest statement vases to put them in!

As the season progresses, you can always add fresh cut branches, but they dry out quickly even when they are placed in water. There’s no mess in the use of faux fall branches and they can be used year after year. And when it comes to my longtime favorite stems, I continue to purchase a few extras to add to my collection annually — like THESE faux magnolia stems that have all but earned permanent residence in my house.
I had eyed THESE plum branches last year, but by the time I decided to order them, they were out of stock. When they came back this year, I ordered them and just had to display them immediately in my foyer in THIS large white stoneware vase.

THIS vase previously held THESE magnolia branches that are displayed most of the year, but I was happy to have a different look when I switched out to THESE rich purple stems. Although, the faux magnolia stems are probably best during fall and winter.

As I was placing my order for my fall stems, I found some others that are absolutely gorgeous! I love THESE red Japanese Maple branches, that my mom ultimately ordered. (I bet I can persuade her to share!) And THESE terracotta smoke tree branches feature all of the best fall colors.

All three of the above stems are from my fave faux floral source. You can browse them all HERE.
Fave Faux Fall Stems
Here is a montage of some of the pretty fall stems that are available this year — all links can be found below the graphic.

The red oak leaf stems (1) are stunning! If I hadn’t already purchased new varieties this year, this one would definitely be in my cart!
While I adore the vibrant red Japanese maple stems my mom purchased (2), I came across THESE faux Japanese maple stems that look great from an Etsy shop (7). I love the deep and varied colors of that stem!
Speaking of Etsy shops, I found THESE faux pomegranate stems (14) at a small shop and love how they are sumptuously styled in vases — they would be gorgeous for fall or the holidays and you can check them out HERE.
Eucalyptus (13) and Olive tree (9) branches are perfect year round but the muted earthiness plays perfectly with fall — especially if you’re more into a neutral autumn vibe.
Fave Fall Vases & Vessels
I am definitely not short on large vessels to hold faux and fresh branches and flowers. I guess I would consider myself “collector” status these days 😉 They even look great on their own with no filler and I use them on my kitchen island, sideboard, console table and even on the floor! Here are some of my favorites this season, in all different materials, colors and price points.

This year’s fall arrangement in my foyer includes ten branches in THIS large white stoneware vase (2). I considered using THIS concrete-style organic vase (4), but I continue to love how it looks on our living room hearth. It’s holding seven of my favorite magnolia branches, so I decided it needs to stay put for now. Here’s a look back at last fall.

And here it is with live magnolia stems as our kitchen island centerpiece…
I love the organic look of the large white stoneware vase and cement urn that I currently have. But, I also like to mix in different materials — I’m a sucker for wooden vases like THIS carved teak urn (3) and THIS handwoven seagrass vase (6).
THIS textured black vase (11) is another favorite of mine and is great, especially if you’re looking to tiptoe into the big black-contrast moment that’s happening right now. It comes in three sizes and shapes HERE.
And speaking of black vases, I have the smaller two-handled version of THIS black handcrafted vase (5). It’s currently housed in my conversation room, but I’ve also used it in several different areas of my home. It comes in three sizes and my mom has the large version. Here’s a look at my small version…

THIS two-handled terracotta jug (8) is also one of my faves and the color is perfect for fall. As a matter of fact, I’m in love with the entire collection that also includes THESE fabulous oversized terracotta beads.

Next on my list — fall-i-fying my living room, and then the start of the front porch! THIS sumac wreath is on order and is on its way for our front door and I am about to pull the trigger on THIS cute doormat for Halloween (on sale for under $14).
Our annual trek to the pumpkin patch is on the calendar and a local grower has added a corn maze, as an additional fun activity. Eliza’s Halloween costume has been ordered and is en route and football is basically here! When will you be starting on embracing the upcoming season? Love these posts and the branches are all lovely but it would be super helpful if when you post pics of the arrangements, you could also include how many branches you used for each. I noticed you did that for the magnolia branches but not the others. I bought some of the purple leaves last year and mine look so sparse compared to yours. Thanks!
Hi Lori, Thank you for taking the time to stop by! I like a fuller arrangement and used ten of the Japanese Maple and plum branches in each of those arrangements shown in the post.
All of your arrangements are so lovely! Can you tell us how many of each kind of stem you used to get that nice, full arrangement? Thanks 🙂
Judy, Thank you for stopping by and for your kind note. I used ten of the Japanese Maple and ten of the plum branches in the featured pictures. I used seven of the magnolia stems in the vessel on my hearth and in the foyer picture and two of the magnolia stems in the small two-handled black vase in my conversation room. Hope this helps!
