Preschool Christmas Gift Ideas

Eliza is three and a half and when I was developing this collection of gift ideas, I had her in mind, specifically. Most gifts are appropriate for girls and boys and many of the gifts included are things she has and loves. There are several categories within this post — non-toy gifts, active/outdoor based gifts, and general gift ideas. You’ll find a description for each below the following graphics. And, because I still love all the gifts I featured last year and I made a diligent effort to not duplicate this year, you’ll find all those as a bonus at the bottom of the post!

1. Ivory Ribbed Chamois Anywhere Chair — This Anywhere Chair is an updated version of the Sherpa Anywhere Chair we gave to Eliza for her first Christmas. In the beginning, Eliza used the Sherpa Anywhere Chair to pull up when she was beginning to stand. It remains a constant in our living room today, as Eliza continues to use it as her special spot to play games or watch movies. 2. 1. Schwinn Retro-Style Tricycle — Part tricycle and part Big Wheel, this Schwinn Retro-Style Tricycle is the ideal first “bike” for a toddler or young child. And, it’s what Eliza is still using for her “bike”. The 3-Wheel Light Up Folding Scooter is extremely lightweight and can be folded up when not in use.
3. Balance Beam for Kids — Eliza is all in on gymnastics right now! This Balance Beam for Kids helps develop balance and agility. The Balance Beam for Kids is made of birch hardwood and has three legs for support and anti-skid pads.
4. Binoculars — These Binoculars have 8X magnification and are designed for bird watching, camping and travel. The Binoculars have a durable rubber coating to protect them if they are dropped and include a neck strap so that they can be worn when moving.

Dave gifted a similar one to Eliza and she loves playing with it.
6. Stepping “Stones” — Eliza has been playing “lava” with my hot pads while I’m cooking dinner so I ordered these for her! These Stepping “Stones” come as a set with ten stepping stones in two different sizes and five different colors. The Stepping “Stones” promote agility and imaginary play and can be used indoors or out.
7. Toss & Catch Game Set — This Toss & Catch Game Set comes complete with two velcro catch mitts and a fuzzy ball. The Toss & Catch Game Set is perfect for the beach, the park, the yard or even inside. The Toss & Catch Game Set is a great beginner’s game in learning to throw and catch a ball. 9. Arial Scoot Drone — Eliza calls hers “Frado” (I’m not sure where she came up with that?!) Designed for the indoors, this Arial Scoot Drone is operated by hand and flies without a remote. To make it fly, you simply throw the  Arial Scoot Drone in the air and use your hand to guide it into different directions, The Arial Scoot Drone has flashing LED lights so it can also be flown in a darkened room. 1. Dino World Magna Tiles — We started with this 100-pc Magna Tile set two years ago and they have been a favorite activity for Eliza to do. Since Eliza has become a big dinosaur fan, this Dino World Magna Tiles set (40 pieces) was the natural next step to take for a Christmas gift that I know Eliza will love. There is also this fun Jungle Animal Magna Tiles set, this Safari Animal Manga Tiles set and this Arctic Animal Magna Tiles set. 2. Animal-Themed Matching Puzzle Set — This Animal-Themed Matching Puzzle Set can be played as a group activity, or as puzzles, independently. 3. Disney Princess Doll Set — I purchased THIS official Disney Princess Doll Set as a gift for Eliza this year and am so impressed with the details and facial features — the dolls don’t just look like a Barbie; the creators paid special attention to the details of the princesses. The set includes twelve dolls sized from 10 3/4″ to 12″ that are pose-able and and include Snow White, Cinderella, Tinker Bell, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Pocahontas, Esmeralda, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel and Moana.
5. Fast Track Toy w/Race Cars — This Montessori-inspired Fast Track Toy w/Race Cars includes a race track with five wooden sloped tracks and four brightly colored race cars. Each track has two lanes so that the racing can be done with alone or with a friend.
6. Wooden Dinosaur Stacking Toy — For just a few dollars, this 11-pc. Wooden Dinosaur Stacking Toy  is the perfect stocking stuffer and will provide hours of independent of partner play as different stacking patterns are attempted and used.
7. Cat Fashion Magnetic Figures — Eliza has this Cat Fashion Magnetic Figures — essentially magnetic kitty dolls that can be dressed up and contained in its magnetic case. Two kitty figures are included, along with many different outfits and accessories. The Cat Fashion Magnetic Figures is also perfect for travel, especially beacause the pieces are magnetized and will stay put and contained within the magnetic case. 8. Animal Parade A to Z Puzzle — Another find for Eliza this year, the Animal Parade A to Z Puzzle has fun and colorful animal pieces that have a lower case letter on one side and an upper case letter on the other. It teaches the alphabet, problem solving and creative thinking. Other versions of the Animal Parade A to Z Puzzle are available, including City, Farm and Ocean.
9. Wooden Cleaning Set — Had I known that it was going to be on display in the main living areas and used on an almost daily basis, I would have sprung for THIS pretty, neutral aesthetic wooden cleaning set, haha. This Wooden Cleaning Set includes a mop, broom, duster, dustpan and whisk broom (and is identical to Eliza’s, just prettier). Another one of Eliza’s favorite imaginary play toys is this toy Dyson Cordless Vacuum that looks like the real thing!
10. Pretty Pretty Princess Game — The Pretty Pretty Princess Game was one of my favorite games as a child and is now one of Eliza’s favorites!
11. Kids’ Selfie Camera — The Kids’ Selfie Camera search for this was sparked by Eliza’s request for her own camera to take pictures since she sees me taking pictures all of the time. The Kids’ Selfie Camera takes pictures and video and has a camera card inside — it’s designed to be used by boys and girls aged 3 to 10. 12. Doctor Bag Play Set — This Doctor Bag Play Set includes a fabric apron, wood thermometer, wood medicine bottle, wood stethoscope, wood ear tool, wood syringe, wood reflex hammer, clipboard and fabric bandage paper. I especially love that the Doctor Bag Play Set includes its own doctor bag so that all of the pieces can be put away for storage.
13. Cottage Dollhouse — The Cottage Dollhouse will be Eliza’s “big” gift this Christmas. The Cottage Dollhouse is one of the cutest and most affordable dollhouses I’ve seen and I can’t wait to create some custom details in it. The Cottage Dollhouse has an open back for easy viewing and arranging, multiple front and side windows and even a greenhouse! Dave already assembled it and wanted me to report that while there are several pieces, it’s really easy to put together and the pieces were quality. I’m hoping to outfit it with some cute touches and furniture.
14. Big Sister Hiker Mouse — We’re collectors of Maileg mice and Eliza uses them (with her cottage dollhouse, linked above) in lieu of dolls. They are the absolute sweetest and comes in a few “generations” (mom, dad, grandma and grandpa, baby, big sis, etc.)
