Trending Textures: Capiz & Pearl

Whenever I find a piece of clothing I love, I have to get it in all the colors. But the more I think about it, my tendencies go beyond loading up on flattering dresses and comfy tops. If I find something I love for our home, I typically start bringing in variations for several rooms. It’s almost like I’ve started all these collections and didn’t even realize it. Today, I’m starting a new series (and I use the term “series” loosely 😉 ) where I’ll be showcasing some trends, along with some timeless elements, in collective prints, finishes, colors, material, etc. My latest love, most recently implemented new addition, and first up for Trending Textures are Capiz and Pearl. Remember when I updated our butler’s pantry last month (HERE)? That’s what started it all.

I was looking for the perfect fixture to marry several finishes between rooms without being overpowering. I also didn’t want to commit to one stark finish so just like my beaded chandeliers (more on those HERE) so I started hunting for something neutral that could go with anything. I’ve already told you how much I love this sweet flush-mount (original HERE but I also found what may be the same fixture for a cheaper price HERE) – so much that I carried that pearlescent look down to my cabinet hardware with these knobs (HERE).

Also, if you are just dipping your toes into mixing metals, capiz and pearl are the perfect stepping stone since they lend themselves so well to either.

In my new finish addiction, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite capiz and pearl accents – for wardrobe and home (take a look at #8!!). All source links can be found at the bottom of the product feature.

Speaking of addictions, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts in just a couple weeks (early access for cardholders starts July 12) and the preview catalog was launched yesterday. I’ll be honest – I’m not super impressed by the sneak peek but I remember feeling the same way last year and the actual sale had way more than I anticipated. Here’s hopin’ the same for this year. You can check out the catalog preview HERE.

I’m going to be sharing a brand new project in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned! And, if you aren’t already, subscribe to my emails at the bottom of this post to never miss a thing.

I love these two classic finishes! They add both subtle glitz and sophistication to any space! One of my go-to’s is a touch of classic black (think “little black dress”) in every room. It might be a picture frame, a small covered box, or trim on a pillow, but I love the saturation of color it provides. Looking forward to both of your new features!

Sharon, I love that! Someone asked me if I was planning to take down my black picture frames in the breakfast nook since I brightened it up. Nope! 😉
