Favorite (Small, Earthy) Outdoor Accent Tables

When I was considering how I wanted to outfit our backyard, I wanted to keep it simple, but I wanted to make intentional choices that would compliment each other (without being too match-y). With lots of nature, stone, earthy porcelain and rock surrounding our pool, I worked to mix sleek modern elements with rougher finishes. I love the contrast and the vibe it gives when it’s all put together — more of a classic garden — timeless but current. While trends and styles come and go, nature is consistent and for that reason, I don’t think you can go wrong when leaning into natural, organic textures like terracotta, stone, and concrete. Today, I’m sharing 16 of my favorite small outdoor accent tables, currently available, for the backyard, porch, deck, pool, or sitting/lounge area.

My Outdoor Accent Tables

As small of a complimentary piece as they are, I spent a lot of time deciding on what the perfect outdoor accent table would be to go between my chaise lounges in the poolside lounge area. Our pavers are pretty modern — as are our black stackable metal loungers (HERE) — so I wanted something with more texture to contrast the clean lines. Unfortunately, by the time I launched our pool and backyard reveal (catch it HERE), our small outdoor side tables were out of stock/no longer available. Hopefully, they will come back because I love them!

I was configuring the shape and measurements of the lounger decking area at the same time I was considering the measurements of the line of lounger furniture and tables I was hoping to place and I wanted an outdoor accent table that was small in the base and top to ensure we had enough room for all the furniture to fit. I love the look but it actually isn’t too heavy — made of resin, powderstone, and fiberglass. If I had known and more confidently ordered based on sizing, I would have probably preferred something with a slightly wider tabletop. Ours are great for drinks/a few personal items, but definitely not enough room to totally unload on.

Number 12 is probably my favorite concrete-style small outdoor accent table (with a 21″ table surface compared to my just-over 15″ table top) — if I ordered today, that would likely be the one I would go for. It also comes in an outdoor coffee table option, too. I like that the base is narrow but the top is wider for practicality.

From one of the more premier retailers, I was surprised to find Number 2 and Number 5 — both a pretty light tone and both on sale, making them some of the most budget friendly outdoor accent table of the bunch!

Number 4 and Number 7 are both on the more wallet-friendly end of the spectrum, both on Amazon, and both shipping free. They’re both under $90, they both ship immediately (arriving in one and two days, respectively), and they both come with free returns.

I love the curved hourglass shape of Number 3, which comes in both gray and white. Note — the gray is a FRACTION of the price of the white!

Number 1 also comes in both white and gray, and coincidentally, the gray is also less than the white.

Number 10 comes in both a small and large size and in addition to the cool terracotta finish, the table is inverse, depending on the size you order.

I’ve had multiple pieces composed of the lava stone Number 11 is made of — it’s such a pretty finish in real life!

Number 14 comes in four different colors and I especially like the dark gray/soft black and white versions.

Not included in the graphic round-up but still worthy of a mention is my fluted small accent table that I have in our bathroom — being used as a small side table and plant stand. It now comes in a few sizes (mine is the small) and a few colors. It is rate for both indoor and outdoor use! You can find it HERE.

What To Consider When Choosing Outdoor Accent Tables

  • Dimensions — not just the width for the footprint of your space, but also the height for accompanying seating.
  • Purpose — depending on whether you’re looking for more of a drink/cocktail table, a table for decor, or a hold-everything table will determine how large of a tabletop surface you need, and also if you need to be sure the surface is flat. A lot of small outdoor accent tables are slightly curved on top — like a garden stool — and are more appropriate for plants.
  • Style — does it go with the aesthetic of your furnishings and decor, enhance your natural setting and surroundings?
  • Versatility — Can you see using this outdoor accent table in multiple place/multiple ways in the future? If not, that’s ok, but make sure. you love it before investing a ton.
  • Quality — Are you looking for something that will get you through single seasons or something that will last for years?
  • Weight — If you get harsh weather and wind, you’ll want to make sure it’s pretty weighted so there is less of a chance it will tip over/break.
