Top 5 from the New Gap Home Kids Line

Last year, Gap Home was born — a Walmart-exclusive line focused on classic style. With its success and so many people loving the Walmart x Gap marriage, they’ve now launched a new Gap Home “Kids” collection — full of cute, kid-friendly, affordable basics for bed and bath. Today, I’m sharing my five favorite pieces from the new collection, along with a few we recently snagged and incorporated for Eliza. The collection is vibrant and colorful with lots of hue options and while there are plenty of patterns to celebrate a rainbow style, there are also patterns created to complement tone on tone, single color decor schemes.

5 Favorite Pieces from Walmart’s New Gap Home Kids Collection

I love that the items in this line are classic — true to the well-known Gap aesthetic, but they’re fun — just as a kids’ line should be! I ordered some pieces for Eliza from this collection early after it launched but lots of items started selling out quickly. I’m hopeful for re-stocks because I’m not done yet 😉

1. The Softest Striped Jersey Sheets

Without a doubt, this simple item is my favorite from the entire collection. Since Eliza has transitioned away from a nursery and is now in a “big girl” bed (ok, it’s still a mattress on the floor since her bed still hasn’t made it here), it was the perfect time to add more than one sheet set to the arsenal. THESE cute, thin striped jersey sheets already had a bunch of great reviews (almost a perfect cumulative 5* rating) — that, coupled with the fact that the sheets came in a perfect-for-her-new-room-lavender, I ordered them. And, I’m so glad I did. They’re incredibly soft, I’ve washed them multiple times and they’ve kept their softness with no pilling, and Eliza adores them. After making Eliza’s bed with her new lavender mini stripe jersey sheets, I added THIS natural knot pillow (which I already had from the regular Gap Home collection at Walmart). When Eliza came home from school and saw it, she exclaimed, “I love my new bed!”

And look at how great it complements her raffia-front nightstands…

The striped organic cotton jersey sheets come in a four-piece set, are under $40 for a full size bed, and come in Twin, Full, and Queen sizes. They’re are also available in six other colors:

  • Blue
  • Navy
  • Pink
  • Purple
  • Red
  • Yellow
  • Green

As we continue to evolve Eliza’s “big girl bedroom,” storage baskets like THIS one are crucial for her doll and toy storage. They come in a set of two, in two different size options.

With the softness factor, affordability, cute colors and classic design, and all the great reviews, I would purchase these sheets over and over again. They feel like your favorite t-shirt, but still have a tailored look but are super kid friendly. The description claims they will continue to soften after each laundry cycle– so far, I concur.

2. Rainbow 6-Piece Towel Set

These spunky, sweet towels are adorable in person! Just the right amount of personality and brings just the right amount of color to those who have a tendency to gravitate toward neutrals. Since Eliza was born, I’ve used hooded towels at bath time. She had literally never used a regular towel after bathing. In seeing THESE sweet rainbow towels, the timing was perfect to transition her to her own “big girl” towels. They come in a six-piece set (two bath towels, two hand towels and two wash cloths) and incorporate several different rainbow prints on each. The price can’t be beat and Eliza is so proud to have a towel set of her own.

Since we finished our bathroom, I’ll sometimes give Eliza a bath in our freestanding tub as a treat — you can get all the details for this remodel HERE.

The entire set of these cute, colorful towels — two regular towels, two hand towels, and two washcloths — is less than $35 HERE. Like the sheets, there’s already a bunch of reviews and a cumulative almost-5* rating.

There’s lots of pieces from the bath portion of the Gap Home Kids line that will coordinate with the rainbow towels. Sure, you can match to the literal pattern (see the rainbow shower curtain HERE), but I love the rainbows with the ombre wide-striped shower curtain… which just happens to be Number 3 in my Gap Home Kids line favorites.

3. Ombre Striped Tassel Shower Curtain

The shower curtain in Eliza’s Jack and Jill bathroom has been there since we moved in our house. It’s a green, almost tribal shower curtain and doesn’t fit in with our house or her. The wide-striped ombre shower curtain from Walmart’s new Gap Home Kids collection is almost like a classic rugby stripe, but has a fun flair — check out those vibrant colors and tassels! That sweet little detail at the bottom of the curtain is darling!

I went with the pink tonal curtain, but it also comes in green and blue — any of the colors will pair well with the rainbow towels. I also love THIS gingham shower curtain that also includes the tassel detail — it comes in navy, yellow, and purple!

And does THIS little planter look familiar? I shared it not that long ago in THIS post, featuring lots of ideas for using planters around the house.

4. Pom Pom Pillow

THIS colorful pom pom pillow will literally go with any color, is perfect and easy to pair with another pillow(s), and is “statement” enough to stand on its own. For that reason, it quickly earned a “top” spot in my five favorites! It doesn’t even technically have “lavender” as one of the pom pom colors, and it still looks adorable.

It has a zip closure so you can use your favorite insert, too — I always look for pillows with that option! Can you even with the cuteness? Of course, I also switched the mermaid to complete the more vibrant look 😉

It even works in a more muted setting, where it’s the only vibrant decor around…

This corner of the playroom also includes lidded baskets for hidden storage, including THIS hyacinth storage ottoman that has been repurposed from the former nursery.

5. Rainbow Bath Mat

I don’t even have it yet, but THIS bath mat rounds out my final slot in my top 5 Gap Home Kids faves! It’s been out of stock and I check back frequently, hoping it will be added back to the site. How cute would it be with Eliza’s rainbow towels??

Each of these five favorites are relatable, affordable, and easy to incorporate into new or kids existing spaces. While the collection as a whole focuses on color, you can easily go the colorful route, or, use a single color/tone and stick to a single accent color.

I’m still waiting on Eliza’s bed before we can think about hanging the art and bringing in a few more “big girl” additions, but she has been so sweet with every change along the way. I can’t wait for her to see the end result! To catch the final big girl bedroom project — plus, future projects sure to come (like her eventual bathroom remodel) — you can subscribe to emails at the bottom of this post.
