Have I ever shared here that in order to share our Christmas home by mid-November, I actually have to start decorating for the holidays once the calendar hits October 1? While it does take a while, that timeframe is primarily for building in a time buffer for the rest of life and work happening, making time to retrieve last minute things as I create in real time, photographing and editing, etc. Since my mom and I have a mid-October Maine trip planned, making sure I started on time this year was more important than ever and my goal was to have all my actual Christmas trees completed by the time we fly out. How did I do? Well, TBH, I give myself a solid ‘A’ ;). Today, I’m sharing an early sneak peek of a few of this year’s Christmas trees, along with a couple of faves from the past, in anticipation of moving closer to the season! And don’t miss the final new tree peek toward the bottom of the post — it’s one of my favorite and most original trees ever!

You know how my great room gets a new color scheme each year? I love seeing the evolution each year and I’m ecstatic with how this year’s tree turned out. Dare I say it may have earned my top spot in my list of favorites? We won’t walk down Memory Lane across more than a decade of great room themes, but here’s a reminder of the past… say… two years…

I think this is the first year I have had the same living room rug from one year to the next. My dogs are still bad, but THIS rug from Wayfair continues to hide those tough stains pretty incredibly, is scrub-able, and remains soft.
I think THIS Cloudpile rug may be my next — similar to the above Cloudpile rug I have, but a slightly different pattern. Wayfair is always my first place to browse for rugs and 90% of the rugs in our home are Wayfair rugs. You also can’t beat the fast, free shipping.

Speaking of the same things from one Christmas to the next, last year’s gold with silver scheme brought in THESE large matte gold balls from Wayfair, and while this year’s colors are very different, I wanted to bring back and incorporate the 6″ gold balls for the second year in a row. I love the warm gold finish on these and the long wire makes them easy to wrap around a branch to secure, but there are a lot of colors available! If you’ve never used 6″+ ball ornaments, try a few sets and see what a statement they make to anchor your tree!

As for a peek of this year’s tree — complete with the 6″ gold ornaments, here’s a small glimpse! I can’t wait to share the full tree!

I also converted several of my tree bases to tree collars instead of skirts and I love how clean it keeps the base looking, especially before gifts are ever added! I used the large 42″ size for the great room tree in “Natural”.

I used the smaller size on the dining room tree. And, I was such a fan of this 7.5′ flocked narrow-ish tree with downward branches, I got one for each level. Here’s a look at it in last year’s dining room…

And while it’s simple in the dining room, I left it totally bare in the bedroom!

It’s such an incredible size for corners that aren’t large, and it’s the perfect tree to add if you want a “lazy tree”.

It’s been added to my record corner in the bedroom already this year (new peek), but I haven’t decided just yet if I may also add some minimal decor. It’s the only tree in the house that may or may not be 100% finished.

Here’s our conversation room during Christmas last year, and we already had a bit of a situation this year. Long story short, three pieces of the great room tree were assembled in here and passed as a full (shorter) tree. We didn’t catch it until hours of work had gone into completing it. A few days later when we were assembling the great room tree, we realized the error, had to un-decorate our setup and re-decorate the correctly assembled tree.

If you’re into tree toppers, the 4-D style starbursts are my favorite and by far the easiest to use! I use them across several trees.

I loved the berry wreaths we incorporated in the conversation room on the french doors last year, too, and the red berry version is so beautiful, too.

My favorite wreath addition from last year though is probably this evergreen wreath.

I have a feeling it’s going to end right back up on our breakfast nook mirror.

And speaking of breakfast nook wreaths, I’ve added mini wreaths with bows I’ve fashioned on my black and white travel gallery wall for a few years now, and I’m still not tired of it. Such a fun way to add a holiday moment without taking up space.

OK, you guys, I am SO excited about this next peek. Like, over the moon. My favorite addition this year — which shouldn’t surprise anyone who knows me even a little — is my SHOWGIRL TREE! I wanted a fun creative opportunity in my office — something I really loved and was specific to me and my space — and when I saw THIS orange tinsel tree at Wayfair, I knew what I needed to do 😉 Here’s a little look, but I’ll be sharing it more in a later post, with all the details.

The tree is 6′ tall, but I ended up setting it on an upside down planter inside a basket to make it a little taller. I used ornaments to cover the base for more glitz instead of something like moss (because #showgirl). The $60 price tag is incredible, and again, since it’s over $35, it ships free from Wayfair. I got it in just a couple days.

I looked into my arsenal to see what I already had, nestled in mine and Eliza’s orange feather boas, and ordered THIS set of 60 pale orange ornament balls from Wayfair. Just like the huge 6″ balls earlier in the post, Wayfair has SO many shades of so many colors — especially uncommon colors 😉 Also, a tip while you’re browsing, look for the purple banner on the listing that says “Wayfair verified” for extra confidence.

I love a tinsel tree, in general, for the opportunity to have fun, get creative with a theme– especially thin, affordable trees that can fit in tight spaces. Most of the below come in a few different sizes!

And while not a traditional tinsel tree, I’ve been using a narrow, modest tree in Eliza’s room for years in her tight corner. This year, hers also has a showgirl spin 😉 I’ll be saving that for a later post, but this was one of my fave looks two years ago…

I am so excited for this year’s Christmas decor and I can’t wait to share it all in the next month! If you’re theming trees this year, I’d love to hear about them!

What a fabulous sneak peek, love your Showgirl tree perfection 🧡. Every Christmas I wait to see what you do and I am blown away by your creativity.
Wendy, Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and to leave a note! I had such fun styling the Showgirl tree. It meant adding a new tree to the mix, but I’m so glad I did!
I love seeing your beautiful trees every year ❤️ This year I’m doing a Gilmore Girls themed tree and I’m so excited!
