The same week Eliza started back to school, we saw the first “false fall” in Georgia (where the temps drop in late summer and it feels and even smells like fall, only for the temps to skyrocket again a few days later.) Whether it was the backpacks and school buses, the teasing temperatures, or just my internal clock sensing the upcoming season, I just had the first — not just yearning for fall, but yearning for fall infusion in our home — I’ve had in a few years. So, I granted myself permission to go ahead and make a few updates to celebrate the approaching (and still best!) season.

1. Kitchen Runner Swap
I have been using THIS diamond runner rug for about a year now, I believe. I still love it. I rolled it up and saved it for later use — despite its foot traffic, its still in fantastic shape. I was just craving a few fall-appropriate updates for the new season since its been a while since I’ve made changes for the joy of it.

As always, as I do with my rugs, I first browsed Wayfair for my runner swap. The runner I switched to (HERE) has varying warm neutrals and browns and softens things up just a little. It’s a great value, is available in a ton of sizes (I chose the 10′ version!), ships free, and will hide spills, stains, and imperfections well.

Here’s a closer look at the pattern and texture.

As a side note, I keep my Le Creuset out on my cooktop year round because of the functionality and coziness factor (we use it all the time). But even if you don’t, breaking one out for fall and winter during comfort meal seasons definitely makes it feel more like cool weather. (I switched my knob to gold, which you can find HERE.)

2. Deep Blue INCORPORATION
I have had greens and browns in my living room for a long time and still haven’t tired of them. For the first time, I was feeling not switching out colors, but adding another layer and incorporating a little deep blue/navy alongside the green and brown. Nothing too crazy, just a little bit to help capitalize on that grandfather chic vibe.

Navy Blue Boucle Throw Pillow Cover (set of 2)
I ordered THESE 22″ boucle pillow covers (that come as a set), and lemme just say. I was so impressed with the quality of these, especially at the budget friendly price point. They come in a bunch of sizes and several colors and are the perfect thicker, nubby texture for fall. Here’s how they were incorporated with what I already had…

plus the addition of this flax-toned pinstripe pillow cover (whose quality I was also thrilled by.) As someone who has dropped a good bit of $$ on quality pillows, the value on these is incredible.

And I am just loving the bit of extra they are giving to my living room!

I don’t have a special TV in the living room (we are still using the one we got 11 years ago when we moved into our house!) but I do find seasonal art on YouTube to display throughout seasons and holidays.

Along with the rug (still one of my all time favorite Wayfair finds), the contrasting black, the leather, the wood tones, etc., I’m totally feeling the grandfather aesthetic this fall.

3. Fiery Fall Wreath Addition
I LOVED the way this red maple leaf wreath looked online and I love adding statement wreaths — not just to my front door, but to the big mirror in my dining room with black walls. I’m always skeptical about in person quality of wreaths though, especially when they aren’t expensive, because it’s hard to tell the size, quality, and fullness online.

This 30″ statement wreath was “Wayfair Verified” so I took a chance on this budget friendly find and am STOKED about the look in person. I LOVE the vibrant color, but the leaf quality is great and it’s so full!

It’s so good, I can’t decide if I should move it to the front door or get a second one. It actually comes in a yellow, green, and multi-color option too HERE.

I think I paid four times the price of this one for my last fall wreath, which was even a few inches smaller.

4. SPOOKY, COOKY ART INCLUSION
Ghost art is so on trend and along with my grandfather aesthetic, I couldn’t resist ordering THIS one to subtly incorporate and layer into my decor on my console. There were so many, I had to share a few faves — from ghosts and witches to skeletons. They all come in a bunch of sizes too, so you can be as elaborate or discreet as you want 😉

1. Ghost Portrait | 2. Ghosts In Field | 3. Skull Of A Skeleton | 4. Witch Hunt | 5. Barn With Ghosts | 6. Cozy Village In Autumn | 7. Spooky Witches Circle | 8. Magic And Mystery Witch With Cauldron | 9. Haunted House With Bats | 10. Three Ghost Companions | 11. Ghost In Field | 12. Witch On Path | 13. Two Ghost Companions
Update! My ghost print just arrived and is adorable! It comes in a bunch of sizes but I grabbed the 12″x16″ version HERE.

5. Welcome Mat REPLACEMENT
Next on my list is to bring THIS cutie little doormat back out. It was still in perfect shape after last season so I am thrilled to be able to use it again this year!

It’s such a fun and low stakes porch update and there are a lot of fun welcome mats available right now. Remember, you get free and fast delivery on orders of $35+. By the way, THIS black and white striped mat continues to be one of my favorite layering rugs with our doormats.

1. What’s Up, Boo? | 2. Pumpkin Welcome | 3. Spider Web | 4. Skull | 5. Ghosts | 6. Bats | 7. Trick Or Treat | 8. Boo | 9. Ghosts | 10. Skulls, Bats & Spiders | 11. Boo | 12. Ghost Trio | 13. The Witch Is In | 14. Home Is Where You Haunt It | 15. Jack O’Lanterns
Have you made any updates for fall? Thinking about it? Aiming for fall, Halloween, or both? I’m so excited for all the fall favorites, I’m just hoping we’ll be able to extend our pool season alongside the pumpkins and pinecones 😉
