*Most* of the items I ordered from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale have arrived and while I didn’t love everything, there are more than a handful of keepers I snagged. So many that I decided to come back to share my favorites and what I’m hanging onto. Some things I had ordered in multiple sizes/ and/or multiple colors to determine my favorite shade and fit. Some things I ended up ordering in a different size after they arrived. Some things I was able to grab during random re-stockings, and some things I went back for multiple colors. I’ll leave notes on everything. Also, as a caveat, before we get into pics — I hadn’t originally necessarily planned to come back with this post. So, a lot of images below are screen shots of SUPER casual videos I filmed for impromptu Instagram stories, for impromptu try-ons (as boxes showed up on my porch), while I was wearing my around-the-house gear. I did not go through the effort of forming complete outfits, so there’s lots of sweaters paired with gym shorts. No judging allowed, haha. With that, let’s get into it.

I love a big, slouchy, oversized, cozy sweater and to me, Free People is unmatched in that arena. It’s why I grab a couple each year and I continue to wear them all every fall and winter. THIS v-neck was a new style and while I LOVE the brown, I am such a fan of this style that I’m considering going back for the ivory/charcoal one, too. In terms of sizing, I typically recommend sizing down one for a still-oversized fit for Free People sweaters.
As an FYI — while they wouldn’t be paired together (haha) the shorts I was wearing that day that I ADORE are THESE gauzy, elastic-waisted shorts with crochet trim and they’re on sale for $11. I love them so much, I have them in every color. I ordered my regular size in the first two pairs and they’re nice and flowy, but I prefer the fit of these (still flowy but a size down).

I wear my long, black Free People vest a lot during the winter, so I was excited to see THIS Zella long puffer vest. I ordered the white in my typical size and really like the color, but will be sending this one back as I thought it was a bit too oversized. I ordered a size down which is still in transit. The pockets are fleecy and positioned perfectly and the outside of the vest is so silky and feels amazing. It has both a zip and button closure and comes in three colors.

What was supposed to be my replacement puffer vest was actually an incorrectly packaged item — the Free People Swim Deep cardigan (which I really like but am already filled to the max with FP knit cardis.) It comes in a bunch of colors and as I already mentioned for FP sweaters, I would size down. This is sized down one from my typical size and is still really oversized.

I loved these Zella Move In Pocket Joggers so much, I also ordered the black, and then my mom followed suit, ordering the black and burgundy fudge colors, also. The stretch, material, and weight of these is fantastic for fall and they may have just gone to the top of my list for fave joggers.
A sweater I literally order every year is THIS Swim Too Deep Free People sweater and I LOVE the Bitter Bark brown color they had this year. I’m honestly loving all the brown this year, in general. The quality of this sweater is great and I continue to wear them all year after year. This is sized down one from my typical size, but if you want it even smaller, I think you could totally size down two for something not as oversized. I wear this sweater for every occasion — untucked with leggings and sneakers, in maxi skirts with a front tuck to church… It’s just a great sweater. As I mentioned before, if your color/size isn’t available, keep checking back! They’ve been restocking often — you just have to be persistent in checking back.

I only recently became a wearer of actual pajamas and I was SO excited to try THIS highly rated knit set. I opted for the brown (they come in a bunch of colors) and went with my typical size. They are soft, have stretch, and are so cozy! There’s also a shorts/short sleeve version HERE.
I was so excited about THIS short sleeve cashmere sweater that I ordered it in two sizes and in two colors. SUCH a classic, timeless piece. I prefer my normal size (if between sizes, size up!). I’m allowing myself to keep one and while I love the oatmeal color, the black one is my favorite on me. This has been in and out of stock in every colors and size, so keep checking back.
Dave had some quarter zip winners and was such a fan of both, that I ordered an additional color of each to gift him for Christmas. THIS Zella fleece quarter zip is such a great, thicker weight and I love how the outside feels, too. Great quality, great fit, great price. It’s incredibly versatile and can be dressed up with jeans or worn with joggers.

THIS Peter Millar quarter zip was an easy decision after he loved a similar Peter Millar quarter zip we ordered last year. It’s much thinner than the above but is such a nice shirt. It comes in a bunch of colors.

Something that was on my wishlist as soon as the sale was announced was THIS wool and cashmere cap with leather bill for fall and winter. It sold out before I was even able to shop. I kept checking back and lucked into being able to snag one on a re-stock. I can’t wait to wear this with my sweaters, and cooler weather gear! If you were hoping for it also and it isn’t currently in stock, keep checking back. I ordered both the cream and gray and prefer the cream (which is the color I’m wearing below.)

A find from my mom — and ultimately, a gift from her — was THIS leather fruit bag charm. They are so cute and even more precious in person! I chose the cherries, she chose the peach, and then she also surprised me with the blueberry — there are a bunch of fruits available. Each zippered pouch can hold coins or an AirTag/some other treasure and if you aren’t in to bag charms (yet), you can also use it as a keychain. After I shared these in my Instagram stories, they quickly became a follower fave.

I had a Madewell tote in Indigo suede on my wishlist last year and it sold out before I purchased it. I was thrilled to see they were adding the shopper tote to the Nordstrom sale this year in the Indigo! The camel color is also really pretty. It opens wide, has a magnetic closure, and is a great all-day or everyday bag. This is another one that has been going in and out of stock.
I ordered two pairs of pointed toe sling backs and really like both — they were both really comfortable and are virtually flat. They both come in multiple colors, are TTS, and while I really like the nude Vince Camuto shoe and it’s really versatile (and less than the Marc Fisher), I ultimately decided to go for the Brown Suede Marc Fisher sling back.

Both mine and Dave’s favorite sneaker/running shoe was part of the sale and I ended up with not just one, but two pairs. I love the neutral of Dave’s Cloud 5 men’s sneaker, and then I ordered the women’s flamingo for me (for warmer weather) and the rosebrown (for cooler weather) — at least that’s how I justified it. I wear them just about every day from errands to walking to around the house so no regrets. My mom tried mine on, loved them, and also ordered them in two colors. I love that the bungee laces require easy slip-on, but an additional pair of standard laces is included with each pair. Fits pretty TTS but if you have a wider foot, can consider a 1/2 size up.

Another sneaker I wear often — and have for years — is the New Balance 574. They have several colors as part of the sale this year! I just happened to be wearing these the other day so I snapped a quick shot to share what the style looks like close up.
I ordered two new pairs of sneakers for Eliza for school and they are both precious (and were total hits when she opened them). The New Balance tongue actually has invisible velcro that pulls up, making the sneakers easier to put on and both the New Balance and Adidas come in blue versions. Also, one pair is just $38 and the other is just $39.

We also get new Bombas socks each year during the sale (although I have yet to retire a pair and they’re the only socks I wear). I love that they’re sized in ranges like shoes so if you have a smaller foot and are used to socks being huge, these will change the game for you. I wear THESE cubic zirconia earrings almost daily (in the 4 ct — 2ct/ear) and they never tarnish. The pairs I’ve bought in previous years still look perfect!

I’m still waiting on THESE pajamas I ordered for Eliza (they’re supposed to arrive today), my replacement Zella vest, and the additional colors of Dave’s quarter zips, but I had more luck this year shopping the Anniversary Sale than I have in recent years and I’m really happy with the classic pieces I’ll be able to incorporate into my wardrobe, and wear year after year.
