Crunchy Asian Slaw with Cabbage and Ramen Noodles

Asian Slaw

This tangy coleslaw recipe provides a different spin from the traditional coleslaw dressed with a mayonnaise dressing. Instead, Asian Slaw includes a sweet and tart dressing and ramen noodles and slivered almonds that add a delicious crunchy element.

Ingredients

Asian Slaw Dressing

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • seasoning packet from ramen noodle package

Slaw

  • 1 bag pre-shredded coleslaw mix (Angel hair or tri-color coleslaw mix may be used.)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 pkg. chicken flavor ramen noodles
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds -- toasted

Instructions

  1. Mix dressing ingredients in small mixing bowl or glass measuring cup with a whisk.

  2. Mix slaw ingredients in large serving bowl.

  3. Pour dressing over slaw.

  4. Toss and serve.
