The anticipation of fall has come and gone and all that is left of Halloween are the least coveted bits of candy still remaining in a large bowl in the kitchen. While many see November 1st as a time to fast-track those snowy branches and twinkling lights, I want to relish in all that autumn been and has yet to bring. In the world of Instagram, I am inundated with beauty and inspiration every day. This fall I have seen the most gorgeous integration of foliage, rustic elements, and cozy vibes infused in the homes of those I follow. But, there are a couple of images that have stuck with me. Between the beauty of not just the photo’s subject but the photo composition also, I wanted to share four images that will carry me through November… four images that surpass pretty decor and have landed in a class all on their own… four images that I consider iconic.
Whoever said you had to use oranges, reds, and yellows to create “fall” in your home has clearly never met Loi. This centerpiece has zero traditional colors associated with the season, but readied my heart more than a multi-color pile of freshly raked leaves. Each piece represents an element I attribute to autumn, from the cozy lighting and rustic antlers to the harvested pumpkins. Famous for his “tone on tone”, this is one monochromatic look I won’t soon forget. Click the image above to link directly to Loi’s Instagram account or find him here.
When I first caught a glimpse of Leah Olson’s home, all decked out for fall both by nature’s own hand and her whimsical lighting and pumpkin placement, I thought it must be an image straight out of one of those heartwarming holiday movies. Is this not the most charming, inviting home you have ever seen?! If I lived closeby, I would want to head to Leah’s for family photos every year. She has captured her home in the evening in the glow of the twinkle lights, also. Click the image above to link directly to Leah’s Instagram account.
Tamara is pretty much a genius when it comes to creating tablescapes. I always look forward to seeing what unexpected pieces she is going to integrate into her dining decor and am always left with a feeling of wanting to stand up and clap… yes, even when I am by myself. She has pulled off some awesome looks this season, evolving each table and creating variations stemming from her original metallic scape base, but when I saw this bird’s-eye view of her second creation, I think I may have gasped. The vibrant green pears, paired (no pun intended) with the silvers and golds is a total feast for the eyes and this image in particular is forever ingrained in my memory. The explosion of fall at Deborah’s home is ridiculous. She always goes “big” on everything she does and her fall front stoop is exception. Her mums, pumpkins, and other florals resemble two narrow gardens running up her steps to her stately double front doors. Perfectly symmetrical and framed by the grand white columns (perfect for her southern home), this is simply everything. I don’t even want to know the planning that had to go into this incredible scene; bravo, Deborah! Click the image above to link directly to Deborah’s Instagram account.
There are some things that leave such an impression that you will never get over them. These four
images works of art have stuck with me all season; they have transcended “pretty”; they are the my favorite visuals that will define fall 2015 long after the season has ended.
